The Garinko is popular during the winter months as a sightseeing icebreaker, which breaks up the ice as it goes along. During the summer months there is no ice, but the ship operates as a sightseeing boat for fishing and fireworks. The large size of the ship means that it is less likely to rock, making for a comfortable cruise.
