Boarding

Until what time before departure can I check in?
We begin check-in 60 minutes before departure. Please note that check-in closes 15 minutes prior to departure. Due to potential crowds, we recommend arriving with some extra time.
Can I board in a wheelchair?
You can board Garinko III IMERU while staying in a wheelchair. Just keep in mind that while the second floor, where the boarding gate is, is wheelchair accessible, there are only stairs to move between the first and third floors. Regrettably, Garinko II is not wheelchair accessible.
Can I reserve seats?
Seat reservations are not available. Enjoy the flexibility of open seating, allowing you to relax in any available seat on board or step out onto the deck to savor the views.

Drift Ice

When is the best time to catch a glimpse of drift ice?
You can usually start witnessing the beauty of drift ice from late January, with the first sightings occurring around that time. The drift ice spectacle lasts throughout the day until mid-March, peaking from mid-February to early March. Keep in mind that the schedule for observing drift ice is narrowing each year due to the effects of global warming.
Is seeing drift ice guaranteed?
While we'd love to promise a guaranteed viewing, drift ice is a natural wonder, and its appearance is not something we can ensure. Depending on the weather, there's a chance you might not see it on the day of your visit. We appreciate your understanding in advance.

Garinko Ships

What are the differences between Garinko III IMERU and Garinko II?
Garinko III IMERU: Launched in 2021, this newly constructed ship is designed for higher speed. It allows for a quicker journey to areas with drift ice. Garinko II: Slightly smaller in size compared to Garinko III IMERU, Garinko II puts you closer to the sea surface, delivering a more intense and immersive experience.
